At Totem Expo-Jeux, product safety is important. This Policy explains safety information for toys, assembly, use, recalls, and product safety communications.
1. General Product Safety
Customers should read and follow all product instructions, warnings, assembly guides, care instructions, and safety information provided with the product.
Toys should be used only for their intended purpose and within the age grading, weight, and developmental stage limits stated on the product page or in the instructions. Do not exceed stated weight or age limits. Do not modify, cut, drill, overload, or misuse toys.
2. Assembly Safety
Some toys may require assembly. Customers are responsible for following assembly instructions carefully.
Improper assembly may cause instability, product damage, personal injury, or property damage. Always check that all locks, hinges, straps, and fasteners are secure before use.
For large or heavy toys, such as play sets, playhouses, ride-on toys, or outdoor play equipment, we recommend assembly by two adults or by a qualified professional where appropriate.
3. Toy-Specific Safety
Toys should be used under adult supervision where required by the age grading or instructions. Never leave a child unattended with a toy that is not suitable for unsupervised use.
Check toys regularly for loose screws, worn parts, tears, cracks, exposed batteries, or other signs of damage. Stop using any toy that appears damaged or unsafe.
Small parts, magnets, batteries, and button cells may present choking, ingestion, or other hazards. Keep small parts and batteries away from children below the recommended age, and always follow the age grading and safety warnings provided. Button batteries are especially dangerous if swallowed; seek immediate medical attention if ingestion is suspected.
Ride-on toys, swings, slides, trampolines, and outdoor play equipment should be used according to the instructions and weight limits. Keep children away from damaged or unstable equipment and do not allow children to climb, hang, or play on play equipment in a way not intended by the manufacturer.
4. Children and Household Safety
Customers should keep small parts, hardware, packaging materials, plastic bags, and tools away from children and pets. Packaging materials should be disposed of safely after assembly.
5. Product Care
Follow all care instructions provided with the product. Avoid exposure to excessive moisture, direct heat, strong sunlight, harsh cleaning chemicals, or improper cleaning methods unless the product is designed for such conditions. Use child-safe cleaning products where recommended.
6. Product Recalls and Safety Notices
If we become aware of a product recall, safety notice, or corrective action affecting a toy sold by us, we may contact affected customers using the contact information provided at purchase.
We may also provide instructions regarding repair, replacement, refund, disposal, or other corrective action. Please register your product where registration is offered so we can reach you quickly in the event of a recall.
7. Reporting Safety Concerns
If you believe a toy presents a safety risk, stop using the product and contact us immediately at info@totemexpo-jeux.com or +33 1 34 28 53 29.
Please include your order number, product name, description of the safety concern, photos or videos, and product labels, batch numbers, or identifying information if available.
8. EU Product Safety Information
For toys sold to consumers in the European Union, applicable product safety, manufacturer, importer, responsible economic operator, CE marking, warning, and traceability information should be provided on the product, packaging, accompanying documentation, product page, or upon request where required by applicable law.
If you have questions about EU product safety information for a product, contact us at info@totemexpo-jeux.com.
